fort worth revamp

The Diocese of Fort Worth has released a new look to their website. So far, with looking through just certain sections of it, I am really impressed. They finally took a hold of database functions and really opened up doors for their electronic ministry. For example, want to know what churches in the Diocese has a Mass at 12:05 p.m. any day of the week? Or how about all the churches in Arlington with a Mass on Tuesday? The new interface allows for such searches. I’m really impressed with it so far. For those who saw the old one, you understand exactly what I mean…

it doesn’t seem that long

This moment marks the exact 6 year anniversary since my father’s death. I ask that you all pray for him, for me, my family, for all fathers who are struggling in their duties and for their childern.
Thank you all.

it’s been a long time

Well boys and girls, it has been some time since I’ve been able to post my random musings up here. Right now, my roommate is downstairs working on somethings and since he’s my ride home, I have a small bit of time to kill.
I think once again, I have decided to switch majors. Yes- again. I’m in two history classes and frankly, I can’t stand either of them. What major is calling my name? I think maybe philosophy. Why? What career would I follow? I don’t know if I know the answer to either of those questions right now but all the same, I’m enjoying my philosophy classes more than anything else. Each day after class, I walk with my professor across campus while debating random points of philosophy. Today’s topic: why the silver rule (“Do not do unto others and you would not want done to you” from Eastern tradition) is logically weaker than the golden rule (“Do unto others as you would want done to you” from Christian tradition). We hit on about three or four different aspects of the two rules and how by each of those the silver rule is logically weaker.
I love it.
I really don’t know what I would do with a degree in philosophy though. I have some ideas but would require a big step. I must be going now though- hopefully it won’t be quite as long until the next entry.

almost caught up

I’m not quite caught up but working on it. Expect better postings soon after everything calms down. Today, I was a busy little bee although it was my day off.
First, found an electronic copy of the Night Prayer for tonight, made little booklets out of it.
Second, helped train some new desk volunteer.
Third, played phone tag with the Bishop’s office (need to call again tomorrow)
Fourth, Lambda ECB meeting
Fifth, Knight of Columbus Meeting… We’re trying to reactivate the council at the Catholic Center. So far, I think we just might.
Sixth, Lambda Night Prayer followed by TCBY.
Seventh, I really enjoy people at the Catholic Center
Lastly, good night.
